Subject: Shikani Scope Update

The Shikani Optical Stylet is wonderful alternative to traditional laryngoscopy. I have found the SOS useful not only for potentially difficult airways, but also as a less stimulating alternative to traditional laryngoscopy. I have been able to decrease induction doses resulting in better post-induction hemodynamics. After only about 20 uses, I can intubate as fast with the SOS as I can with a laryngoscope.
